Canadian Diamond Academy is a division of Embee Diamond Technologies Inc. offering the proven experience in diamond valuation, cutting, polishing and training of Mike Botha of Embee Diamond Technologies Inc.

The Academy offers incomparable quality and the highest standards for training individuals in retail diamond sales  and local, national, and international primary and secondary diamond processing. The decision was made to focus on a specialized training course for diamond and jewellery sales people for our select Customers, and once established, an apprenticeship programme for processing will be introduced. Ongoing contact with some of the largest diamond exploration and mining companies leads us to believe that Canadian Diamond Academy’s services are needed and will be in demand long into the future. 

Embee Diamond Technologies Inc., author and developer of an award-winning diamond training program, brings the strength of knowledge and practice in the diamond industry to the joint-venture. Mike Botha is a master diamond cutter by profession with almost 40 years experience in the diamond industry including more than a decade in diamond training. Mike has worked and trained in South Africa, Mauritius, Russia and Canada. During his career he worked on famous diamonds including the Premier Rose diamond; weighing 353.9 carats in its rough state. In 1998 Mike was recruited to cut several large diamonds for Diagem International including two 100 carat and one 314 carat diamonds; to date the largest gems ever cut and polished in Canada. Mike is the occupational certification officer for the diamond industry in the Northwest Territories under the Department of Education, Culture and Employment as well as the technical consultant for the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment for their Government Diamond Certification Program. As curriculum developer and chief instructor at Canadian Diamond Academy, Mike brings commitment to the Academy’s vision of embracing excellence and pursuing perfection.

Mike headed up the Diamond Training Program at Aurora College in Yellowknife, Canada. During his six year tenure with Aurora College, he developed and delivered programs, earning the college the coveted Yves Landry Award for Outstanding Innovation in Education.
